Berg D.I, 38.63 of initial Aviatik production order ; Italian front, summer 1918. Aviatik D.I 38.63 was among the first fitted with raised, cowl-mounted guns within reach of the pilot, left the factory for frontline service in June or early July 1918. Korporal Josef Marszalek of Flik 74J was wounded on July 15, 1918, when the fighter crashed due to wing failure.
